In the WordPress administration, choose “Search Tools – PRO Settings” from the left menu.

In the first field you can define “Search slug”. If this field is filled, e.g. with the “search”, the URL changes from default WordPress:

searching for “download”

www.example.com/?s=download

to:

www.example.com/search/download

Please don’t use spaces, more words split with the hyphen:

“searching for” WRONG

“searching-for” CORRECT

Reset

If you want to return to the default WordPress behaviour, simply leave the field empty.

Redirection

Default WordPress search URL is automatically redirected to the nice URL.

Multilingual Use

In the multilingual WordPress installation you can still set only one slug for all the languages. Multiple slugs are not supported yet.
